A CALL TO HOLINESS ❤

"But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written " Be holy, because I am holy" -1 Peter 1:15-16


We often see Christians who claim themselves to be very holy in the sight of this world but have hidden and secret deeds that make them unholy before God. It is of great importance to follow the statutes of God and remain holy in his sight. Walking in holiness requires the holy spirit and living a holy life requires renewal of heart and reformation of ones soul.

Leading a holy life is the most important aspect of being a Christian. What does it mean? What is being holy? If you ponder upon these questions you may think that being holy means being physically holy. But, my dear brothers and sisters being holy not only means being holy physically but also being holy spiritually and mentally. Being holy in every act of life. Being physically holy means being away from all worldly sins and wicked ways of this world for example the sins you commit physically through your sight, actions, words or deeds. It is clearly said in the Holy Bible - "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies" - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Hence it is very important to keep ourselves holy. Even a small unholy thought in your mind makes you completely unholy before the Lord. So even our thoughts must be pure and holy. Spiritual holiness requires a lot of prayer, meditation and contemplation. We must be spiritually disciplined to have the presence of God in our daily lives. 

You may be a very spiritual person and a religious believer for the world, but question yourself are you really holy and pure before the Lord??!!

What can you do when you are not able to be holy by yourself? For man it may not be possible by himself at times but for God everything is possible. It is not a one step process to reach the pinnacle of holiness. But you need to gradually build yourself and move ahead one step at a time to reach there. You may start initially by reading the Word of God. The more you read his Word of God and spend time in his presence, the more your mind and heart will be transformed from the darkness of this world to his eternal light. Spending more time in prayer and fellowship will also help you one step further. Finally following his commandments and surrendering your life completely to the Lord with a constant reminder to self that we do not own our lives but rather owe it to the one who has bought us with a great price which we can never compensate will help you stay holy throughout.

Our Lord is a forgiving God and an ever loving Father. If you think that you have been unholy and unrighteous all these years of your life, it is not too late! Surrender your life completely to the Lord and he will forgive you and renew your heart. He will purify you with his most precious blood and cleanse you from all unholiness. Just surrender yourself and see the wonders our Lord can do for you!
